Emily Kennedy

Emily KennedyMrs. Emily Kennedy is in her fifteenth year in education and seventh year in administration. This will be her third year serving as South Anna Elementary School's assistant principal. Mrs. Kennedy previously worked in Henrico County and Greene County where she taught both first and second grade and served as associate principal. Mrs. Kennedy holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a concentration in psychology from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She earned a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Mrs. Kennedy has a heart for foundational reading instruction and ensuring an equitable learning environment for all students. She has always worked in Title I schools and has loved being a part of the collaborative effort in providing services and instruction for students with disabilities. Mrs. Kennedy believes that relationships, community, and providing a safe school environment is key to a successful school year.

Mrs. Kennedy resides in Mechanicsville with her husband, Chris, their two children, Walter and Isabelle, and dog, Oscar. She loves to run, visit the mountains, bake and spend time with her family. Mrs. Kennedy looks forward to continuing to help each student at South Anna reach their potential this school year!
